Voices on the race 

Edwin Soi (Kenya, 1.): 

This victory is very important for me, since I worked hard for it. The race was excellently cast this year. With the half time sprint, I defered to my concurrents. Only afterwards did I strike in an ambush and this tactics paid off. 

Jida Imane Merga (Ethiopia, 2.): 

I am a little bit disappointed since I came to Bozen to win. I beat Soi only a few times ago in Paris. Perhaps it will work last year.

Mo Farah (Great Britain, 3.):

This was my first New Year's Eve run and the setting was fantastic. It is a great feeling being cheered by so many people along the track. It was cold and slippery. Nevertheless, I did a good run. I tried to stay near to Soi and Merga. Italy apparently brings me luck: in 2004, I was World Junior champion in Grosseto, in 2006 European X champion in San Giorgio, in 2009 European indoor champion and now third in the BOclassic 2010. In 2010 I am going to concentrate on the indoor WC and the EC in Barcelona. 

Serhiy Lebid (Ukraine, 9.)

I don't know what was the matter today. This was a jet black day for me.

Gedo Sule Utura (Ethiopia, 1.):

I never thought that I would win because I am not used to the cold. This was no promenade for me, even if it seemed so. I am so happy that I won in this great atmosphere. Now I am preparing for the World X Championship.

Sonja Roman (Slovenia, 2.):

Last year I finished fourth, this year  second. I never thought I could manage this after my three-week-lasting training camp in Portugal. When Utura pulled ahead, I apparently had too much respect and did not dear sticking to her. In the end, I was not far behind. Now I am preparing for the indoor WC in South Africa.

Christelle Daunay (France, 3.):

After the New York City Marathon I paused. It is only one month that I am training again, so I am very much surprised about today's result. Normally I feel more at ease with longer tracks. This race, with all the spectators along the track was a great experience.
