Running out of 2009 | ||||
With introducing of the BOclassic Road Race for amateurs fine years ago, the organisers came back to the roots of the international New Year's Eve Run of Bozen/Bolzano. The BOclassic Ladurner Amateur Run is a competition for everybody. During the second half of the 1970s, the New Year's Eve run was a community run with more than 100 participants; with the years, top athletes blocked the amateurs out, In 2004, the community run was newly introduced in the run-up to the top runs. " With this we came back to the roots of this sporting highlight on the last day of the year", OC-president Thomas Vonmetz declares. " The founders of the New Year's Eve Run wanted to shorten the long winter break. And this is what we want with the Ladurner Amateur Run. Our aim is to approach every running enthusiast." Last year, 250 participated on the run; the OC hopes to have even more this year. The BOclassic Ladurner Amateur Run is a special event for guests and natives. South Tyrolean's best marathon runner Hermann Achmüller says: "It is my first time to participate this year and I am very much looking forward to it: but it's not the result which counts for me. I want to enjoy the special atmosphere of this community run. The amateurs run on the same track as the elite runners through the historical centre of Bozen/Bolzano. After four rounds and 5 km the fulminant finish line is on Walther Square. Each participant receives a BOclassic T-Shirt. Those who register within 23 December will even find their name on it. The starter kit furthermore includes an aluminum drinking bottle, an isotonic, nonalcoholic Erdinger beer as well as refreshments. Entry fee is 20 € for registrations until 23 December. On request, associations receive special conditions. Late registrations are possible up to one hour before the start. The BOclasic Ladurner Amateur Run takes place on 31 December at 1 pm. Number assignment is on 30 December from 6 to 8 pm and on 31 December from 10 to 12 am in the race office on Walther Square. |
