BOclassic under the sign of environmental protection: one tree for 50 participants

The 35th edition of the BOclassic is under the sign of environmental protection. In collaboration with the South Tyrolean Gardeners' Association, one tree for every 50 partiicpants will be planted on Bozen's Talferwiesen. Plant trees and protect the environment - this could be the theme of this campaign because each tree and each plant inluence the environment, arrange for a better climate and render our environment livable.

"This initiative is certainly in the interests of our members which dedicates themselves more and more to environmental protection", says Valtl Raffeiner, president of South Tyroleans's Gardener Association. The horticultures try to produce eco friendly to the greatest possible extent, in as far as they employ water saving irrigation methods. Due to special hygiene, less herbicides are used. Furthermore, alternative energy sources are used for the warming of the greenhouses. In accordance to this, BOclassic's initiative is a step in the right direction - and the Gaderners' Association follows readily.
